January team update: Looking ahead to 2023

January 4, 2023

Wishing you all a Happy New Year. As we reflect on what has been achieved in 2022, we're thinking about what we could be doing better, making plans for the coming year and looking forward to seeing what evolves as we continue to work together.

Please join us and help shape Co-Production Collective in 2023!

At the end of 2022 we launched a survey to help us improve our communications and find out what more we can do to remove barriers to people getting involved with the Collective. Please support us by filling out the survey and encouraging others to take part as well by midnight Sunday January 15 at the latest. It will take just over ten minutes of your time and will really help us to improve the way we work, develop our plans for the future, and provide valuable insights for the impact report about our work that we are currently working on and hope to share with you by early February.

If you need more information before taking part, please have a read of our blog or contact on coproduction@ucl.ac.uk and we will be happy to answer any questions.

Co-Pro Cuppa dates for your diary

Last year we enjoyed many get togethers at Co-Pro Cuppas, discussing all things co-production, celebrating successes and solving challenges together. To kick 2023 off we have booked in three Co-Pro Cuppas at different times to try and give more opportunities for people to take part. Please join us!

Where we will be sharing our learning and promoting the value of co-production this month?

Niccola, Helen and Lynn have been asked to deliver a session for the Health and Public Impact Fellowship Programme on the impact of co-production and public engagement work and to provide advice on how to present it in the most persuasive ways to funders, service commissioners and assessors. The session is on 18 January 14:00-15:30 (UK time) and open to all so feel free to sign up via Eventbrite if it is of interest.

Niccola, Cece and Al will be supporting Green Lane Masjid and Macmillan Cancer Support to run a co-production session and write a report to help in kick starting improvements in the equity, diversity and inclusion of cancer services in the Birmingham & Solihull area.

If you would like to get involved in future opportunities like this please let us know by emailing coproduction@ucl.ac.uk.

Get involved with our strategy

Coming up in February and March we will be picking up and developing on the work we did last year on our ‘Journey of Change’ and plan to start work on our new strategy (the successor to ‘Our Direction’) with the aim of having this complete by October 2023. You can get involved in this work by joining one of the sessions outlined below or if you are unable to join us there will also be opportunities to provide your input offline after the sessions.

If you would like to attend, please sign up via Eventbrite links below or email us on coproduction@ucl.ac.uk so that we can assist you with signing up. You are welcome to attend one session or both, whatever works for you.

Thank you

As we start out on 2023 we are as committed as ever to championing co-production, training and providing support to co-production projects so that they can generate meaningful impact. We at Co-Production Collective are working hard to do our best to lead by example by strengthening and diversifying our community and putting people at the heart of everything we do. We want to say a massive thank you to all of you for being part our community and look forward to seeing what we create together this year.
