What's happening in March?

March 2, 2021

Welcome to a new monthly update where we (the Co-Production Collective team) share what will be keeping us busy in the following month. We hope this will give you a flavour of what we’re up to when we’re not running sessions, how we’re working towards achieving the ambitions laid out in Our Direction 2020-2022, and prompt you to get involved in any opportunities we have coming up!

So here goes….

Nicc

As you may have seen from our recent announcement, we have just been signed up to do a big piece of work with NHS England and NHS Improvement. Over the next year we will be working with young people, their parents and carers, and school staff in residential special schools across England to co-produce innovative new approaches and improved access to hearing checks for children and young people who are autistic, have a learning disability, or both. This is such an important piece of work and is going to be keeping me busy! If you are interested in hearing more, please drop me a line.

Also, I am working hard to ensure that the Collective can be sustainable in the long-term and to raise our profile. This involves lots of conversations about possible partnerships and sharing of our learning as to how to co-produce in an authentic way.

One other key thing, Lizzie and I will be working on collating all of the input so far into our draft payment policy. We are hoping to do a co-creation session soon to discuss key things that emerge. Lots to do but all great stuff!

Feel free to email me to chat about any of this.

Lizzie

This month I will be getting properly stuck into my new role as Co-production and Learning Manager. Nicc and I are spending a lot of time trying to get our heads around what needs doing and when, so hopefully that's set us up for a productive March...

I’ll be focusing on how we talk about what we do – what our value is to potential community members, commissioners or partners, and how we can translate that in a meaningful way. Part of this includes getting a first draft of our Journey of Change (which sets out how we think our activities make a difference) ready for some co-creation.

Beyond this internal work, I’ll be continuing to support a project run by King’s Health Partners and funded by NHS England in Lewisham, south London. They’re using co-production to explore how personalised care approaches could reduce the inequalities exacerbated by Covid-19 (look out for a blog on this soon...).

I'd love to hear if you have experience with this or any other similar work, so please do drop me a line.

Rory

This month, our brand new website has finally gone live after months of co-creation (many thanks to everyone who has taken part in this process since summer of 2020!). I will be keeping an eye on it, looking out for areas where we might be able to improve it, so do let us know how you feel about the new website! Also in March, we’re hosting a co-creation session to think about 'How we decide who we work with' (1.30pm Thursday 25 March) and would love to see you there.

Finally, we’ve received great feedback about our newsletter, so I’m very excited to continue working hard and finding more and more guest authors and topics to discuss. If you have something to share, then I'd love to hear from you so please get in touch
